Iwasaki “carving files” – Japanese precision files developed for controlled material removal with a high finish. Manufactured in Japan, they are known for their special tooth geometry that cuts chips instead of tearing material, resulting in less clogging and a cleaner surface. Unlike traditional rasps, Iwasaki combines fast material removal with good control. The result is efficient shaping without damaging the surface – often saving a step in post-processing.

Three of the models have a flat working surface for shaping surfaces and adjusting fits. The fourth model has cutting teeth on the short side and is used for opening grooves and working in tight spaces.

We primarily sell these as tools for re-handling Japanese knives.
They are very suitable for:

– adjusting and adapting the hole in wooden handles
– fine-tuning the fit between tang and handle
– controlled work in hard woods without splitting the material

Also works excellently for general shaping in wood, bamboo, plastic, and composite.

Comes with a red protective sleeve made of rubber-like material.
