A well-thought-out starter kit with two sharpening stones, a sharpening mat, and a strop, everything you need to truly get started with knife sharpening. The package maintains a consistently high, professional level from the first sharpening and well into advanced use.

1 pc Medium sharpening stone with #1000 grit from Shapton Professional. It repairs minor nicks in the edge and is coarse enough to quickly raise a burr, which speeds up the work and makes sharpening enjoyable.

1 pc Fine sharpening stone with #5000 grit from Shapton Professional. This stone leaves a polished finish and a very sharp edge. It is fine enough for knives like Global, Yaxell, Tamahagane, and MAC, as well as carbon steel knives. It makes the edge shiny and razor-sharp but still leaves some micro-serrations in the edge that give it good bite over time.

1 pc Strop. After sharpening, you finish by stropping the knife. This removes any microscopic burr that conceals the sharpness you've created. The color of the strop varies depending on availability. Please contact us if you prefer a specific color.

1 pc Sharpening mat in silicone and fiberglass (600 x 400 mm). It protects the surface from dirt and ensures that the included stone holders stand stably when you sharpen.

Many consider Shapton to make the absolute best stones on the market. They remove metal very efficiently, and the stones are very hard. The hard ceramic wears down very slowly, meaning you don't need to flatten the stones as often as a softer stone. The stone consumes minimal water and is of the 'splash & go' type, which means you don't soak the stone in water before use. Instead, you pour a palmful of water on it and start sharpening immediately.

Care instructions:

1. Rinse the stone in cold water after use. Never use dish soap or hot water.

2. Wipe the stone with a lint-free cloth and then let the stone air dry at room temperature (Do not dry in direct sunlight or with a hairdryer).

3. Store the stone at room temperature.
