Mizukihara Uchigumori Renge
Mizukihara Uchigumori Renge
An extremely large and rare Uchigumori natural stone from Mizukihara. The Mizukihara mine (水木原) is located in western Kyoto, near Mount Ōhira. The mine is particularly known as one of the few sources of genuine Uchigumori stones, used in traditional Japanese polishing.
This stone has a light pistachio tone with renge.
Dimensions: 224 x 80 x 55 mm
Weight: 2390 grams
Perfect for kasumi finish and fine polishing, where it delivers an incredibly smooth and controlled surface. Mizukihara stones are known for their slightly higher cutting power and ease of use, making them particularly valued by both knifemakers and sharpeners.
The result is a silky, smooth finish and a sharply defined edge – the kind of finish only a genuine Uchigumori can provide.
A stone for the collector or serious craftsman seeking the absolute best.
