Kiritsuke
From the heart of Sanjo in Niigata comes Tetsuhiro Kankou, a knife series representing both tradition and innovation in Japanese forging.
Crafted by Satoshi Kiryu, a third-generation master at Kiryu Kogyo, which has been active for just under a hundred years. Satoshi Kiryu has long been known for his Western-style utility knives. With Tetsuhiro Kankou, he takes his craftsmanship to a new level – where every detail, from the blade's grind to the handle's fit, testifies to his precision and sense of balance.
The core of each blade consists of SG-2 powdered steel, an advanced stainless steel that combines exceptional hardness with excellent edge retention. It is encased in nickel Damascus steel with a deep, vibrant texture that gives each knife a unique expression.
The handle is made of ebony with buffalo horn bolsters.
