A classic and highly sought-after Japanese natural stone from Umajiyama, labeled as Uchigumori Suita. The stone exhibits a clear suita structure with natural pores, as well as beautiful dark karasu spots and subtle renge (lotus pattern) inclusions.
Uchigumori stones from Umajiyama are known for their fine yet effective sharpness, making them particularly suitable for sharpening and finishing Japanese kitchen knives, razors, and traditional tools. This stone provides even, controlled feedback and leaves a clean, matte to silky edge with good bite.
The stone comes in its original box with Japanese labeling, which enhances its authenticity and makes it interesting from a collector's perspective. It is a very fine representative of classic Kyoto quarrying, both as a working tool and a collector's item.
