Shigeki Tanaka is the blacksmith who produces these fantastic knives, which are as beautiful as they are sharp. The blade has an inner core of SG-2 powdered steel, which provides an incredibly sharp and durable edge with an impressive hardness of 62-63 HRC. Around the core are 32 layers of steel, giving it a wonderfully beautiful structure. The handle is made of beautiful 'desert ironwood' that has been sculpted to fit the hand. All knives are delivered in a wooden box.
The knife series was originally made as a collaboration between Shigeki, his uncle, and his father; the legendary blacksmith Yoshikazu Tanaka, who unfortunately passed away in 2012. Shigeki and his uncle still produce the knife as a tribute to his father, but production is extremely limited, and many years pass between each delivery.
